Jackson Pollock Inspired Weavings

2nd grade students created some beautiful splatter painted weaving's!
We discussed the art of Jackson Pollock and his splatter painting techniques.  Students were able use Jackson Pollock's techniques in their own artwork to create a splatter painting.

Once the paintings dried, students used their prior knowledge to create a weaving.  Next year, these students will have the opportunity to create a yarn weaving and this paper weaving project helps prepare them for the next step!

I am very impressed with their work ethic and motivation to create their own weaving creation!
