Vincent Van Gogh Inspired Starry Nights
2nd grade students created their own Starry Night creations. We discussed Van Gogh's painting techniques and used our knowledge of color-mixing to create a Starry Night using lots of small lines with lots of color! These are all in progress, but all students are very excited!
Students were able to demonstrate an understanding of foreground, middle ground, and background. The cypress tree in the front is big because it is closer to us. Students were able to make the connection that Van Gogh may have looked out of a window when he painted his Starry Night.
